According to OK!, the former Lizzie McGuire star has asked the writers to create a part in the show for 23-year-old Haylie Duff.
"It's a challenge," said an insider. "Haylie will play the big sister who visits from time to time."
Barely Legal is based on the true story of 18-year-old Kathleen Holtz, the youngest person ever to pass the California bar exams.
Haylie Duff's previous screen credits include Napolean Dynamite, 7th Heaven and Material Girls, in which she starred alongside her sister.
