Somerville joins Whitman in 'Off Duty'

Bonnie Somerville has joined the cast of Bradley Whitman's NBC comedy Off Duty, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The singer and actress will play the wife of Romany Malco's character, whose rising career in the police force is being hampered by his washed-up detective partner (Whitford).

Capethia Jenkins has also been added to the cast as the grumpy chief of police.

Somerville's recent TV credits include Cashmere Mafia for ABC and Darren Star's short-lived Kitchen Confidential.
