NBC names new reality TV chief

Craig Plestis has been named the new Senior Vice President of Alternative Programmes and Development at NBC Universal.

The long title effectively means that Plestis oversees reality shows at the company. In his previous position as Vice President of Alternative Programmes, Plestis oversaw The Apprentice, the success of which contributed to his promotion.

Jeff Gaspin, President at NBC Universal Cable Entertainment and Cross-Platform Strategy, explained: "Since the day he started, Craig has delivered for us on every occasion, most recently with the huge success of The Apprentice. This promotion is well-deserved and provides him with even more opportunities to contribute."
