Cross 'should not return to 'Melrose Place'

Felicity Huffman has advised her Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross not to return for CW's remake of Melrose Place.

Cross, who plays Bree Hodge in the ABC show, starred as Dr. Kimberly Shaw in the original series from 1992 until 1997, when her character died from a brain tumour.

When asked by E! News if Cross should reprise the role in some capacity, Huffman said: "Oh God, no! She's done it. She's a brilliant actress. She's on to new things."

Earlier this week, former Supernatural star Katie Cassidy became the first cast member to be confirmed for the CW reboot.
