CNN wins first-night DNC ratings

CNN scored a ratings win over rivals Fox News and MSNBC on the first night of the Democratic National Convention at the FleetCenter in Boston.
New numbers in from Nielsen Media Research show CNN averaging 2.04m viewers between 8-11pm, compared to 1.64m for Fox News and 1.14m for MSNBC. During the Clinton speech hour, 10pm-11pm - which was also carried on the ABC, CBS and NBC broadcast networks - CNN had 2.54m viewers, with 1.44m watching FNC and 1.04m tuned in to MSNBC.
For the broadcast numbers, the 10pm hour saw CBS draw 4.55m viewers, with NBC on 4.53m and ABC on 4.4m.
