Sky1 acquires 'Stargate Universe'

The deal will give Sky1 exclusive free and basic UK TV rights to the series, plus non-exclusive VOD and download-to-own services for the entire Stargate catalogue.
"The Stargate franchise has been a terrific performer for us over the years, and our audience has always loved the show on Sky1," said head of acquisitions David Smyth.
"We couldn't be more delighted to continue our partnership with MGM for the next journey."
Stargate Universe, which stars Robert Carlyle as Dr Nicholas Rush, will kick off as a two-hour premiere, followed by an hour-long conclusion the following week.
The series is due to air on Sky1 and Sky1 HD this autumn.
