The show will revolve around the male editor of a newspaper column as he endures a messy divorce and a strained relationship with his teenage daughter.
Bicks said that the project will be markedly different to Sex And The City.
"It's going to look at the question of what love and relationships mean in modern terms," Bicks told Variety.
The producer also recently finished a script for the Ellen DeGeneres comedy Mother Nature.
