The series will see the addiction specialist treat a group of people in LA who are suffering with sex compulsion issues.
Throughout the series, Dr. Drew Pinksy will try to shed light on some of the misconceptions and myths surrounding the condition.
"Sexual compulsion afflicts roughly 6% of the American population and carries the same devastating consequences as any other addiction," said a VH1 spokesperson.
"For addicts, sex isn’t even pleasurable, but rather a way to escape the pain of past loss, childhood trauma, abuse and abandonment."
The hour-long show is due to premiere in the autumn.
Last year, David Duchovny admitted himself to a rehabilitation centre seeking treatment for sex addiction.
