ABC picks up Canadian drama 'Copper'

The 13-episode order came after the project was pitched to rival networks NBC, The CW, Lifetime and Fox.
The series is billed as Grey's Anatomy in the world of rookie cops.
Production on Copper is due to start in Toronto in June. The title role is yet to be cast.
