Speaking at this year's PaleyFest, the Fringe producer also described Nimoy as "wonderful".
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Nimoy will guest star on Fringe.
Nimoy has previously worked with Abrams on Star Trek.
"Working with him was intimidating and wonderful. It didn’t even occur to me I would get to work with him again," Abrams revealed.
When asked how long Nimoy would be working on the show, Abrams teased: "He hasn’t signed up for just one episode, I’m not going to say how many."
