Craig Kilborn's decision to quit his late-night CBS talk show has resulted in the network lining up a series of guest hosts to fill the presenting role until a new permanent host is found.
The Late Late Show's new season will premiere on September 20, and guest hosts will be used until "at least the end of October." The roster of hosts has not yet been announced.
"We see this as an entertaining way of transitioning from one long-time host to another," said Rob Burnett, CEO of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Worldwide Pants also produces David Letterman's Late Show, which also airs on CBS.
