NBC renews cop drama 'Southland'

The series, which stars The O.C.'s Ben McKenzie, debuted last month as a late midseason addition to the network's lineup. The show premiered strongly, with around 10 million viewers, although the audience has since dipped slightly.
The renewal is for a second season of 13 episodes, adding to the first season's seven episode order.
