With acting and production already under his belt, Maguire is now to be on the board of advisors for the new cable channel Edge TV, to be launched in 2005.
The channel, which is to be dedicated to games of chance and strategy, will be developed with the assistance of Phil Hellmuth who, along with Maguire, is a renowned poker player. The two played each other at the Mirage Poker Showdown in Las Vegas in early August; Tobey beat Hellmuth and came 15th overall out of 281 players.
"I have always been a fan of games, and I am excited to be participating in the development and direction of EdgeTV," Maguire explains. "I look forward to influencing the quality of the channel's programming and am thrilled to have the ability to affect its overall direction."
