Adult Swim orders 'Titan Maximum'

Adult Swim has commissioned a new comedy series called Titan Maximum.

The stop-motion animation series is from the team behind Robot Chicken, and follows a set of robots 100 years in the future.

Robot's co-creator Seth Green will voice the show's villain as well as executive produce the project alongside Tom Root and Matthew Senreich.

Root said that the series will pay homage to '80s Japanese animated cartoons.

"There were always teams of extraordinary young people with the fate of the universe in their hands," said Root. "In reality, that would end terribly. The last thing you want when giant monsters attack is a bunch of teenagers in charge of defending you.

He added: "Titan Maximum is about what would really happen if a team of idiot kids were in charge of a six-story-tall robot."

Adult Swim will launch the series in September with an initial order of nine episodes.
