Missy Elliott has revealed more about her new reality show, The Road to Stardom With Missy Elliott, which is expected to premiere sometime next year.
The show, which will air on UPN in the US, searches for the next big hip-hop star.
"I'm a watcher of American Idol," Elliott said while speaking at a Television Critics Association panel. "But this is a whole different type of show from that. You get a chance to see what it takes to be an artist and not just someone getting onstage and performing."
She added, "What I was specifically looking for was, of course, somebody with talent. And it's not necessarily that they have to be the best singer or the best MC. It has to be something about them, like character, where they have a way of a believer out of you."
Madonna and Busta Rhymes will make guest appearances on the show in order to give advice to contestants.
