The actress has posted a link to a petition to save the show on her Twitter page. The appeal currently has 2,400 signatures and is expected to be forwarded to heads at ABC in the coming weeks.
"I want 10,000 signatures by Monday. Am I being greedy?" Applegate wrote.
The Anchorman star was nominated for an Emmy in 2008 for outstanding lead actress in a comedy for her role in the sitcom.
