Fran Rubel Kuzui, who holds the rights to the franchise, recently announced that she is hoping to resurrect the character without the involvement of creator Joss Whedon.
In a brief interview with Entertainment Weekly, Whedon, who is currently working on the second season of Dollhouse, said of the movie: "I hope it's cool."
