The presenter will host the shows in front of 450 troops as part of what has been dubbed 'Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando', says The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedian revealed that he was inspired to take his programme to the country after he noticed a decline in related US news coverage.
"I don't want to forget that people are struggling through the things that I sometimes make jokes about," Colbert said.
