The actor, who played Billy Campbell on the original edition of the popular drama, said that the updated version is not a good idea.
He told New York Daily News: "Melrose Place was a great show in its time, and if I were calling the shots, I would say don’t bring it back. Leave it as it was at its time. That’s the way it should be."
Original cast members Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro are reprising their parts in the show's new incarnation, while Shue has no plans to revisit his past acting role.
He added: "They wouldn’t have my character back on the show. My character was born out of the ’90s. It’s a different era now."
Melrose Place originally aired on the Fox network for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999.
