ABC goes for 'Let's Dance' format
Published Thursday, Jun 11 2009, 11:34 BST | By Simon Reynolds

The network has picked up the format from FremantleMedia and Whizz Kid, who produced the UK original for this year's Comic Relief.
The show will centre on celebs re-enacting famous dance routines, with viewers asked to vote for the winner. Peep Show actor Robert Webb won the UK competition performing the moves made famous by Jennifer Beals in Flashdance.
"Whizz Kids had incredible success in the UK with this format, and we do believe this will be attractive to celebrities who may have never considered unscripted TV," said Freemantle's Julie Uribe.
ABC is hoping to position Let's Dance between series of its similar reality show Dancing With The Stars.
