The actor, who played Jake Hanson on the original version from 1992 to 1997, revealed that he does not have any plans to reprise his bad boy character. However, he said that he will tune in to see what transpires for the new residents of the infamous apartment complex, E! reports.
He said: "I have no intention of returning, but everyone I’ve talked to who has seen the new show says it’s surprisingly very good.
"And hey, more power to them... Sure, yeah, I’ll watch."
Show explained that he did not think it was odd for the new series to have brought in Laura Leighton’s Sydney Andrews role back from the dead, saying: "It’s a soap opera. You can do whatever you want. I mean, the whole building was blown up and everyone lived."
It was announced last week that Josie Bissett will reprise her Jane Andrews Mancini character as a guest star on an upcoming episode of the programme, which debuts on US TV on September 8.
Melrose Place originally aired on the Fox network for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999.
