Terry Kinney joins 'The Mentalist'

Terry Kinney has landed a recurring role on The Mentalist, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kinney will appear in the CBS crime drama for at least seven episodes of the show's second season, playing Agent Sam Bosco, a policeman with deceptively sharp intelligence.

His character will be brought in to help with the Red John serial killer case and is expected to clash with Simon Baker's character Patrick Jane. It has also been reported that he shares a dark past with Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney).

Kinney has previously appeared in Law & Order, CSI: NY and The Unusuals.
