Griffin: 'I'm here to be objectified'

Kathy Griffin has admitted that she does not mind if male fans are keen on seeing her as a sex symbol.

The My Life On The D-List star, who was a contestant for a bikini poll on People.com, admitted that she would do whatever it took to win the competition.

She said: "I voted for myself obsessively - I mean many hundreds of times. Then I called my mother and had her vote, and then I had the staff drop all other work so they could do nothing but vote for me."

The 48-year-old comedian beat out fellow rivals actresses Lisa Rinna and Tara Reid to top the list. However, she credited Paris Hilton for influencing her to sport a swimsuit when the model guest starred on her Bravo reality series.

She added that she is being looked upon as "a stupid shallow sex object" because of the honour, saying: "I am here to be objectified. I am a piece of meat. There is nothing going on upstairs baby - when it comes to Kathy Griffin, it is all about the T & A."

Griffin recently said that she'd trade her mum in order to win a third Emmy Award.
