She will reportedly appear in the programme's season premiere when her character approaches Lightman (Tim Roth) for help after experiencing a psychic vision of a murder.
Christensen had been scheduled to begin filming the upcoming NBC drama Parenthood later this month, however, production on the show has been delayed to allow star Maura Tierney to undergo surgery for a cancerous tumour.
