The Academy Award-winning actress is to guest star on ABC Family series Ruby & The Rockits, playing "the mother from hell" of her real-life stepson David Cassidy and his halfbrother Patrick, TV Guide reports.
The actors will be joined by another family member, Jones's son Shaun, who rose to fame during the '70s as the star of TV show The Hardy Boys. He is executive producing the programme that stars siblings David and Patrick as one-time popstars.
It was recently reported that Friends actress Lisa Kudrow started a David Cassidy fan club during the run of the US musical family sitcom.
The Partridge Family ran on ABC from 1970 to 1974.
