US Ratings: 'Gilmore Girls' beat Branson

The show's first hour attracted a 3.2 rating/5 share for Fox, behind Gilmore's 4.2/6. (One ratings point represents 1,067,000 households, or one percent of the USA television universe of 106.7m TV-equipped households. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions in a universe tuned to a particular show or channel.) CBS led the hour with coverage of the CMA Awards, followed by NBC and ABC. UPN placed sixth, behind Rebel Billionaire.
Ratings for Branson's show did pick up very slightly in the second hour, moving into fourth place with a 3.3/5. CBS, NBC and ABC continued in first, second and third place respectively with The WB's One Tree Hill taking up the fifth position and UPN trailing with Veronica Mars.
