Handler to host 'Comedians' specials

Chelsea Handler is to host a series of specials featuring comedians who appear on the panel of her US chatshow, it has emerged.

The Comedians Of Chelsea Lately was filmed in June at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, while the showcases will run every Friday night from August 14 to September 4 on E!, according to Examiner.com.

Handler hosts a nightly discussion on celebrity news of the day with a three-member group, usually comprised of stand-up comedians, on her popular programme. The specials will feature regular panellists performing their comedy routines on a rotation cycle.

Jo Koy, Sarah Colonna and Guy Branum will headline the inaugural edition on August 14. Heather McDonald, John Caparulo and Whitney Cummings are scheduled for the August 21 show. Loni Love, Brad Wollack and the Sklar Brothers will be featured on August 28, with Josh Wolf, Jen Kirkman and Chris Franjola finishing up on September 4.

Talkshow host Graham Norton recently appeared on Chelsea Lately and told the comedienne that he sometimes drinks on his series to get through boring interviews.
