Winslet lined up for 'Mildred Pierce'

The Oscar winner's latest project is expected to be picked up by HBO, but no deal has been confirmed yet.
Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven, I'm Not There) is writing and directing the series.
Mildred Pierce was turned into a film in 1945, which won Joan Crawford an Oscar. It tells the story of a bored housewife who gets caught up in "backstabbing, romance and murder" after entering the restaurant business.
