The network has paired with Kauffman and Warner Brothers to adapt the recent film, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, from the original novel written by Audrey Niffenegger, The Wrap reports.
Kauffman is reported to have been keen on the project since the book was first published in 2003. The storyline will revolve around a man who has the ability to circumvent space and time due to a rare genetic disorder, and ends up married to an artist.
The Friends scribe will serve as both writer and executive producer on the proposed pilot, while no casting announcements have been made. It is unclear if Brad Pitt's Plan B production company, which worked on the movie version, will be involved with the project.
It was announced earlier that screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin had wanted Pitt and then-wife Jennifer Aniston to headline the film adaptation.
