'Prison Break' star joins NBC's 'Southland'

The 38-year-old, who played Fernando Sucre over the Fox show's four-season run, will appear in the Canadian cop drama as the aggressive new partner of Detective Lydia Adams.
In other NBC casting news, Jurnee Smollett has been added to the Friday Night Lights cast as a series regular. The 22-year-old, whose previous television credits include Grey's Anatomy, House and ER, will join the NBC show as Jess, the daughter of a onetime NFL hopeful who knows the game and helps her father to raise her siblings.
Additionally, Joy Bryant has been added to the Parenthood cast in the role of Jasmine, a single mother who moves back to her hometown to introduce her 5-year-old son to his father.
