Jenna Hager, a qualified teacher, has reportedly been recruited as a correspondent for NBC's Today show and will report on issues including education.
"It wasn't something I'd always dreamed to do. But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change," she said.
The 27-year-old will contribute stories around once a month, while continuing to work at her Baltimore school as a reading coordinator. Executive producer Jim Bell has insisted that she will not cover politics.
Hager, who married husband Henry at her family's Texan ranch last year, added that she had no plans to discuss life as the president's daughter.
