Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad will debut on the long-running US sketch comedy series in the autumn, says TV Guide.
Slate, 27, is a graduate from Columbia University who performed at a campus-based weekly comedy theatre show. She also wrote a one-woman performance piece entitled Dead Millionaire, and demonstrated her sketch abilities on SNL alumnus Jimmy Fallon's late-night chatshow.
Iran-born Pedrad began her comedy career with the Los Angeles troupe The Groundlings. In 2007, she performed her one-woman show Me, Myself & Iran at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, while she also appeared on ER as a nurse during the drama's final two seasons.
Reps for NBC declined to comment on the news. Saturday Night Live will begin its 35th season on September 26.
