The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star was recently added to the lineup of celebrities - including La Toya Jackson and Victoria Beckham - that are filling in for The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is on maternity leave.
The 34-year-old began her two-episode stint earlier this week, while the TLC reality show personality is to team with Food Network presenter Paula Deen for a talkshow similar in style to The View, according to E!.
It is understood that the proposed venture would be produced through Telepictures, the company which handles Ellen DeGeneres and Tyra Banks's US series.
"They're looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them," a source said. "But they want all the women to be mums."
A rep for Telepictures would not confirm nor deny if the programme is currently in the works, saying: "We don't comment on any development activity."
Gosselin previously stated that she will not quit Jon & Kate Plus 8.
