Ling to return as guest 'View' co-host

Lisa Ling will return to The View as a guest co-host for two days next month, according to ABC.

The network has confirmed that Ling, who left the talkshow in 2002, will stand in for regular co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on October 5 and October 6.

Hasselbeck is on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child in August.

Ling served as a regular on the show for three years and currently works as a correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show.

She said: "I'm thrilled to be mixing it up with the women again. I'm hoping that some serious debate ensues."

Other stars who have recently filled in for Hasselbeck include Kate Gosselin, La Toya Jackson and Victoria Beckham.
