It was recently suggested that the future of the show was uncertain following the DJ's death last month.
Preliminary findings suggested that the 36-year-old - real name Adam Goldstein - died from an overdose after drug paraphernalia was found at his New York home. While no toxicology report has been released, MTV was said to be concerned that the show, an intervention-style series, would be exploitative.
However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, MTV has been in talks with Goldstein's family over when to air the programme, titled Too Far Gone. It was originally scheduled to air Monday, October 5.
