'Housewives' creator developing new series

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry is reportedly developing a new series for ABC.

Cherry will team up with Housewives executive producer Alexandra Cunningham for the hour-long project, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The series had been referred to as a Housewives spinoff but will now be a standalone show, according to reports.

The untitled series is apparently targeted for next season.
