CBS to carry Formula 1 races

American TV network CBS will begin airing Formula 1 races later this year.
"This is an important step forward in our strategy to promote Formula 1 in the U.S. and to reach a wider audience over the coming years," said Bernie Ecclestone, president and CEO of Formula One Management and Forumla One Administration.
CBS currently plans to broadcast four races during weekend sports programming, beginning on April 24 with the San Marino Grand Prix.
Most F1 races will continue to be found on the SPEED Channel, which also plans to air the four races CBS has selected (in addition to San Marino, those races are the Spanish Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix and the Grand Prix of Europe) on a tape-delayed basis after they finish airing on CBS.
