Fox are hoping that the loss of Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher, both integral members of the show's cast, will not stop people from tuning in to one of the network's favourite programmes.
Grace is currently starring in comedy In Good Company, while Kutcher is busy with his production company. The network says that both are expected to make "occasional appearances" in the new season, although they will be taking very back-seat roles.
Fox president Gail Berman announced today that the show should recover from its recent ratings slump when American Idol and The Simple Life return to help it out on Wednesday evenings.
Executive producer Tom Werner enthused: "That '70s Show is one of the strongest comedies on television. I am thrilled that this outstanding ensemble is returning next season.
