The 45-year-old scribe is slated to pen The Follower, an adaptation of a crime novel by Jason Starr, reports Variety. The satirical show will revolve around a stalker who follows the romantic lives of young New Yorkers.
Paranormal Activity's Jason Blum has been tapped to executive produce the project along with Vertigo Films partners Doug Davison and Roy Lee, and Media Talent Group's Geyer Kosinski.
A number of Ellis's novels have been adapted for the big screen, including Less than Zero and most recently The Informers. He recently partnered with filmmaker Gus Vant Sant on a movie based on Vanity Fair article The Golden Suicides.
