Halpern and Patrick Schumacker will co-write the multi-camera comedy, says The Hollywood Reporter. Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick were named as co-executive producers of the as-yet-untitled potential series.
On his Twitter account, Halpern posts humourous quotes that he heard his 73-year-old father say while he was unemployed and living at home.
A recent post from the feed reads: "Oh please, you practically invented lazy. People should have to call you and ask for the rights to lazy before they use it."
Halpern recently sold a book based on his Twitter page to HarperCollins.
