The 36-year-old will play Richard Castle's former lover on the quirky crime drama. Milano is to make her appearance in an episode titled 'A Rose for Everafter', due to air in early 2010.
The Charmed actress will also feature in the forthcoming ABC comedy Romantically Challenged.
The network recently picked up Castle for a full second season.
