Squeaky clean Seth Cohen will try heroin in an upcoming storyline, E! Online has revealed.
The character, played by Adam Brody, has entered a "bad boy" stage of late - but it won't be a permanent change.
"He's kind of a pussy," Brody told the website. "It probably won't last that long. Even his bad-boy stage is a little faux bad boy, but that's okay, cause I think I like it better that way than if he was a real bad boy.
"He's gonna try heroin, though. I think that needs to be explored, so we'll have that episode. But other than that episode, I think he's getting good grades, he's respectful of his parents. I don't think it's going to be too much of an issue."
Elsewhere, Marissa (Mischa Barton) will shortly begin a full-blown lesbian relationship with Seth's girlfriend Alex (Olivia Wilde).
"People are expecting one thing, and I think it's much more than that, in that it's a relationship," explained Wilde. "It's not just like a kiss. It's not just like a crazy girl-on-girl, girls gone wild, do you know what I mean? It's really something real."
As for Alex and Seth, she added: "Alex and Seth are really wonderful friends. They always have a lot of chemistry, but it becomes more like a brother, more like a friend thing."
