The 28-year-old will be busy filming his lead role in Disney's John Carter of Mars when production begins on FNL's fifth season, reports Entertainment Weekly.
"[But] we are communicating with the [John Carter] production to work out the schedule so that Taylor can be in as much of season five as possible," series producer Jason Katims said.
Kitsch plays Dillon High School football player Tim Riggins on FNL.
The programme, now in its fourth year, is currently airing on DirecTV and is to air later on NBC.
