According to Variety, the Fool's Gold actor has teamed up with Fox for the cartoon comedy Rooster Tales.
The series is believed to revolve around a beer-loving, redneck sheriff who marries a younger woman from Mexico, only to realise that he must also contend with the other 114 members of her family.
"My brother's life is so unbelievable, we had to animate it," said McConaughey, who will serve as executive producer alongside his brother Mike.
Rooster Tales is currently in script stage.
