According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor, who played LJ Burrows on the Wentworth Miller-fronted drama, has landed a regular role on Alan Ball's series.
Allman will apparently play Sam Merlotte's long-lost younger brother who works at a tyre depot in Arkansas.
Recently, actor Sam Trammell confirmed to DS that his character Sam Merlotte would be emabrking on a mission to find his real family in season three.
"I imagine - and I'm pretty sure - he's going to try to find his real biological parents," he said. "He's probably had a desire to see them, unconsciously, for a while, then there was that whole episode where he was with the kids and he realised that one of the kids - Cody - had never actually seen his father.
"That was the catalyst so that's what Sam's going to do, he's going to go try to find his actual biological parents who he's never met and that is going to be trouble. Alan Ball is going to torture me again!"
Allman appeared as a series regular in the first two seasons of Prison Break. After that he appeared briefly throughout season three, but was notably absent for most of season four.
