The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley has admitted that he is worried the show's producers may decide to kill off his character.

Wesley's alter-ego Stefan Salvatore has been an integral part of the show since its inception last fall, but producers have promised that more deaths are on the cards.

Asked if the main cast are worried following Kayla Ewell's shock departure last year, he told DS: "We're all frightened! I don't like hearing that - it's a bit unsettling, I'm not gonna lie!

"They could just kill us at any second. You sign a deal and the next thing you know... I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed!"

The Vampire Diaries continues tomorrow at 8pm on The CW in the US and begins Tuesday, February 2 at 9pm on ITV2 in the UK.
