A production report for the 98th and final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise indicates that the show will in fact be set in the time span of a previous Trek spin-off: The Next Generation.

The report, posted to the official website for the series, says that sets from The Next Generation's USS Enterprise-D were specially reconstructed for the episode. Specifically, Ten Forward, the Observation Lounge, Counselor Deanna Troi's quarters and corridors resembling those seen The Next Generation have been rebuilt. Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi) and Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker) are both reprising their Next Generation roles for the episode.

The name of the episode is "These Are The Voyages," and although no precise story details have been revealed thus far, the production report says that the Enterprise-D's holodeck will feature during the episode - making it seem likely that the characters of Riker and Troi will somehow be crossing over into the Enterprise-era show via a simulation.

Efforts are still underway to secure a fifth season for Enterprise, with one group - TrekUnited - having raised over $3m.
