FCC: 'MNF' trailer "not indecent"

America's communications regulator, the FCC, has ruled that a Desperate Housewives-themed trailer for Monday Night Football was not indecent.

The trailer, which was broadcast last November, showed Nicollette Sheridan of Desperate Housewives fame leaping into the arms of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens. Despite having a reputation for being a steamy promo, viewers were only able to ogle part of Sheridan's upper back after she "dropped" a towel she had been wearing.

ABC reported receiving complaints about the trailer, although apparently they were from viewers who thought it was inappropriate for 9pm ET transmission as opposed to viewers who were displeased that there was only a small amount of exposed skin on display.

Those complaints prompted an FCC investigation. The regulator ruled, in a unanimous decision from its five member panel, that the promo wasn't "graphic or explicit enough to be indecent under [its] standard."
