Rob Lowe for 'Criminal Minds' spinoff?

The actor has been approached by ABC about a leading role in the new series, reports E!.
A source revealed that Lowe could co-star with Forest Whitaker in the show. Whitaker was reportedly nearing final negotiations for the lead in late January.
However, CBS representatives have denied rumours of Lowe joining the project.
Lowe recently quit his role on ABC drama Brothers & Sisters. The 45-year-old will bow out at the end of the current fourth season.
ABC president Steve McPherson has said publicly that ABC would like to keep the star working at the network.
