Joe Simpson developing Nick comedy

The father and manager of popstars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson claimed that the series will be loosely based on his real-life experience as a psychologist raising his daughters in the suburbs of Dallas, TX.
Simpson has teamed with veteran teen show producer Tommy Lynch (South of Nowhere, The Troop) to produce the as-yet-untitled show.
The story reportedly centres on one daughter "who begins imitating her father and giving life advice to other kids in her school".
Simpson was also behind Jessica's 2003 MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica and 2005's The Ashlee Simpson Show.
Carpoolers writer Emily Cutler is penning the script, with Simpson and Lynch serving as executive producers.
